Metropolitan Church of Saint Nikolas

The Metropolitan Church of Saint Nikolas in the city center, one of the finest byzantine churches of Greece, founded in 1664 and renovated in 1721. The interior will fascinate the visitor by the wood-carved altarpiece and its murals.

Historical-Folklore and Natural History Museum

The famous Historical-Folklore and Natural History Museum of Kozani, a work of the Letters & Arts Association of Kozani. Housed in a four-storey building of Macedonian architecture, the historical department holds the whole history of Kozani. At the same time, the folklore collection was composed, in which the following themes were exhibited: traditional occupations of primary production, workshops and trades, spiritual, social and family life.

Museum of Local Modern History

The Museum of Local Modern History of Kozani, a unique Museum of the Municipality of Kozani, with photographs, artifacts and prints that document the local modern history, focusing on the 1940s and on the accomplishments of the fighters of the National Resistance in Western Macedonia.

‘Koventareios’ Municipal Library

The ‘Koventareios’ Municipal Library of Kozani founded in the second half of 17th century has over 120.000 volumes, some of them extremely rare, and precious acquisitions like manuscripts, codices, documents and forms, archetypes and old prints.

Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Kozani housed in a neoclassical building, known as the ‘Panagiotideio’ Mansion. It includes sculptures, signs, relics, clay pots, statuettes and jewelry dating back to the Paleolithic up to the Roman Age.

Municipal Μap Library

The Municipal Μap Library is an innovative institution and an educational attraction. It is housed in the recently restored Lassani’s Mansion and one of its best exhibits is the 12-page Map of Rigas Velestinlis (1796-1797)
